Just realized our new inventory scanner was set to count in dozens, not units

We were doing our first big stock check with a brand new system last Tuesday, and I was in our main warehouse in Akron. The numbers were way off, showing we had way too much of everything. I spent a solid hour thinking we had a major theft problem or a shipping error. Turns out, the default setting on the scanner was for 'dozens' and nobody, including me, had checked that box during setup. We had to recount everything by hand for about 300 SKUs. It was a long night. Has anyone else run into a simple setting that threw off your whole process?

Ugh, been there... did you guys set up a pre-check list for new gear after that? We had to make one for our barcode readers.
