Hit 1,000 invoices in a row with zero repeats, that finally made it feel real

Back in 2019 I was running a small logistics office near Kansas City and I kept a tally on a whiteboard, just for myself. Not for anyone else, you know? I wanted to see how long I could go without sending a duplicate invoice or a wrong total. It was a dumb personal thing. Then last week I looked at the board and it said 1,000. Took almost six years to get there, between all the software changes and the one time we moved offices and I lost two weeks of data. That number mattered because it proved our whole checking process was finally working on autopilot, not just me being careful. But now I'm wondering, does hitting a number like that actually mean anything if the team changes next year? Has anyone else kept a weird personal metric going just to see if it holds up?

Wait, did you keep that whiteboard when you switched software, or does that 1,000 number get wiped clean?
