Had to fire my inventory guy at the warehouse last Thursday
I run a small parts distribution center in Cleveland and caught my guy hiding $2,800 worth of returns in a corner instead of logging them back in. He said he was just trying to keep the shelves clean but that's not how you fix a stock count. How do you handle employees who cut corners without telling you?

You ever just stop and wonder what they think is gonna happen when you finally find the pile? Had a guy do the same thing with scrap metal at my shop, thought he was just being tidy but it was straight up hiding the evidence.

The 47 beer cans I found behind a buddy's shed last summer comes to mind lmao. He swore he was just "organizing" the recycling but it was stacked three tiers deep like some kinda aluminum fortress. The thing is, you can't really hide a pile that big without someone noticing eventually, especially when it starts smelling like stale Coors Light on a hot day. It's just basic math - if you're moving enough trash to fill a dumpster, somebody's gonna wonder where it all went. The tidy excuse only works for the first few trips, after that it's just denial with extra steps lol.
