Switched from throwing away vegetable scraps to composting them 6 months ago and now my trash only goes out once every two weeks instead of twice a week.

I used to just toss carrot tops and eggshells in the garbage without thinking, but after I started a little bin in my backyard last spring, my trash bill dropped by like $15 a month and my garden soil looks way richer has anyone else seen actual savings from composting or am I just weird about this?

Yeah my dad started doing this with his coffee grounds and banana peels, next thing I know he's trying to compost old socks and pizza boxes. His garden's a mess now but at least he's saving like ten bucks a month on garbage bags.

Is saving $15 a month really worth the mess and hassle though
