My car's alternator died on the highway near Springfield last Friday

I used my emergency fund to cover the $475 repair, which felt awful but proved the budget works. Has anyone else had a major expense pop up right after they finally saved a decent amount?

Was it one of those weird weeks where everything breaks? I read a thing about how people often get hit with a big cost right after hitting a savings goal, like the universe testing you. Good on you for having the fund ready, even though paying it out stings.
