Just realized my 'budget' meal kit was costing me double
I signed up for one of those meal kit plans last year, thinking the $70 a week was a good deal because it stopped me from ordering takeout. After six months, I looked at my bank statements and saw I was still hitting the drive-thru on nights the recipes were too complex, so I was basically paying for two dinners. Has anyone else found a cheaper way to get the 'convenience' factor without the extra bill?

Rotisserie chicken is the real MVP. Just keep some frozen pizzas for the lazy nights.

Classic meal kit trap. You end up with a fridge full of weird sauces and a pile of regret, then just get a burger anyway. My solution was to just buy a rotisserie chicken and a bag of salad every Monday.

Totally agree with nathanburns about the meal kit trap. Those little sauce packets just clutter up the door forever. The rotisserie chicken plan is smart because it's already cooked, so you can't mess it up. I'll shred the whole thing on Monday and use it for salads, sandwiches, and just eating straight from the container. It saves so much time and money compared to ordering out when you're tired. That one chicken gets me through half the week easy.
