TIL booking flights on a Tuesday morning saved me $120 on a trip to Denver

For years I just hopped on Expedia whenever I felt like planning a trip, usually on a Friday night after a few beers. But last spring I was booking a flight to Denver for a friend's wedding and decided to try this whole Tuesday morning thing I kept hearing about. Woke up at 7am, checked Google Flights around 8, and found a round trip for $210 when the same flight was $330 the day before. Turns out airlines drop their weekly deals Monday night and by Tuesday mid-day other people snatch them up. I also learned clearing your browser cookies helps too because they track your searches and raise prices if you keep looking. Now I always set a calendar reminder for Tuesday mornings when I'm planning something. Has anyone else noticed a big difference booking at weird times like late night or early morning?

The cookie thing is real, I tested it once by searching a flight on Chrome and then looking at the same flight on my wife's phone that never searched it before. Her price was $40 lower. Now I just use incognito mode every time I check flights, or sometimes I'll use a totally different device like my work laptop. The Tuesday morning trick works best for domestic routes too, international flights seem to have their own weird patterns like Wednesday afternoons or Sunday nights. I saved $180 on a Chicago trip last year by booking at 6am on a Tuesday compared to what I was seeing the Friday before.

Ngl you should clear your cookies too, not just incognito.
