Rant: I used to book flights 4 months out until a $61 mistake in Denver changed my mind
I always thought booking early saved the most money, but when I waited and grabbed a Tuesday flight from Denver to Phoenix for $61 two days before the trip, I felt like a fool for all those $200 bookings. A gate agent told me airlines drop prices on unsold seats about 48 hours out, and my last two trips backed that up. Has anyone else had luck waiting until the final couple days, or do you end up paying more when the plane fills up?
