Missed my bus in Prague because the hostel gave me wrong directions
Ngl I was standing at the wrong stop for 45 minutes while my bus left without me, ended up dropping $30 on a last minute train ticket. Anyone else lose money on a dumb travel mistake like this?

Blew $60 on a taxi in Rome because I accidentally got on the wrong train from the airport and ended up in some random suburb. The driver didn't speak English and kept pointing at his meter going up while I was sweating through my shirt. Learned this one the hard way in Vienna last year, @logan263. I spent an hour waiting at a tram stop that had been moved three blocks away due to construction, and nobody thought to put up a sign. It's funny how travel mistakes like this really teach you that the official information you get isn't always reliable, even when it comes from people who should know better. These days I always pull up my own maps and confirm everything on the spot, because trusting one person's word has cost me more than just bus fare.
