I dropped $200 on a 'must-have' travel card in Rome and never used it once.

I got talked into buying a tourist card that promised skip-the-line access and free transit, but the lines I needed to skip weren't even covered and the transit pass was cheaper on its own, so has anyone else fallen for a city-specific pass that was a total rip-off?

Honestly I got one last trip and it saved me a ton. Felt like a good deal if you actually hit a few spots.

Feel like I'm the tourist they designed it for. I buy the pass with big plans, then end up too tired to visit the third museum. Still saved money on the two I did see.
