I booked a flight to Lisbon for a Wednesday instead of a Friday and saved $180
I always thought weekend flights were just a bit more, but checking a random Wednesday in October showed a huge price drop on the exact same airline. Now I plan all my trips around mid-week departures, even if it means taking one extra vacation day. Has anyone else found a specific weekday that's consistently cheaper for certain regions?

A travel blog I follow did a deep dive on this. They said airlines often set their new weekly prices on Monday night, so Tuesday morning can have leftover cheap seats from the previous week. It seems to work for short haul flights, but long haul international is a different story. Midweek is almost always the winner for crossing an ocean. Have you tried looking at Tuesday for a quick domestic trip?

That Wednesday rule works for Europe, but Tuesday is often cheaper for domestic US flights.
