Rant: Stop draping speaker wire across the carpet like it's invisible

I helped a buddy set up his budget system last weekend and he ran the left channel wire right across the walkway, so I tripped on it twice before I made him tape it under the rug, why do people think that's okay?

Argue the other side for a second though. That wire is probably way easier to just drape across the floor than spend twenty minutes trying to fish it under the baseboard or staple it to the wall. Honestly, as long as you know it's there and don't go full speed through the room, it's just one of those things that comes with having a cheap setup.

One of those things that comes with having a cheap setup" - yeah, I get that, but my buddy Mark tried that exact logic with his gaming PC. He tripped on the wire during a late night session, yanked his tower off the desk, and cracked the side panel. So that cheap fix ended up costing him way more than the twenty minutes of cable management would have.
