I finally picked a used Epson projector over a cheap Amazon one

Went with a beat-up Epson 2150 from Facebook for 150 bucks instead of a new 1080p projector for 100 on Prime Day and the picture is way better even with a scuff on the lens, has anyone else gambled on a used name brand and had it pay off?

Hell yeah, nice pick. The thing nobody talks about is that the cheap Amazon projectors are basically disposable. They use garbage lenses that won't focus right in the corners and the color is always off no matter how you tweak it. Meanwhile that old Epson has a real optical system you can still clean and adjust, plus you can usually find replacement bulbs for them years later. You basically bought a tool that can be fixed instead of a toy that gets thrown away.

Dug an old Panasonic out of my dad's basement a few years back, same situation where a cheap LED bulb from Amazon would have been toast by now. Had to clean the dust off the lens and realign a couple mirrors inside, but it fires up every time like it's brand new. There's something satisfying about fixing stuff instead of just tossing it and buying another one.
