My sister told me she feeds her family of four for under $75 a week
We were talking about food costs and she said she makes a big pot of lentil soup every Sunday. She adds cheap veggies like carrots and potatoes, and it lasts them three days. I always thought you needed meat for every meal to feel full, but her kids love it. What other cheap meals can stretch that far?

Wait, a family of four for under seventy-five bucks? That's honestly hard to believe with grocery prices now. Lentil soup is smart, but that number seems crazy low unless they're getting everything from a garden. Makes me wonder what they're cutting out entirely.

My cousin does something similar with a huge batch of black bean chili. She buys dried beans in bulk and uses a ton of onions and canned tomatoes. It honestly tastes better the next day and they eat it over rice to make it last even longer.
