My grandma's church potluck in Gary fed 40 people for $28 and I still think about it
Stopped by a church supper in Gary, Indiana last Saturday with my aunt. They charged $8 a plate and the whole spread was beans, cornbread, and a big pot of greens. I did the math in my head, 40 people, $8 each, and the food couldn't have cost more than $30 total to make. Somebody's grandma ran that kitchen like a machine. Does anyone here still cook big batches like that for cheap, or is it all meal prep containers now?
