Appreciation post: my $3 rice cooker beat my $60 one on a 20 pound bag
Two weeks back I tried cooking a 20 pound bag of jasmine rice in a cheap $3 pot from the Goodwill on 8th Street and it took 55 minutes to get right, way longer than I planned. The fancy $60 cooker still wins on speed, but the cheap pot made fluffier rice for a third of the cost. Is it worth saving 30 minutes or should I just stick with the junky pot and a timer?
