TIL the bug in my Skyrim chest isn't random, it's the same 3 items every time
I kept losing stuff from my Whiterun house chest and thought my save was just cursed. Last week I finally sat down and tested it, dropped 20 iron daggers in, slept 48 hours in game, and 4 of them vanished. Turns out anything I stash on the top row of that chest can get overwritten when the cell resets, and it's been eating my dragon bones for months. I moved everything to the left side and did the same 48 hour test twice, zero losses. If your chest is acting haunted, check which slot you're using before you blame the patch.

Man this explains so much! I lost a full set of glass armor out of my chest in Breezehome and just figured I'd sold it by mistake. Tested it the same way you did with some junk potions on the top row and sure enough a few went missing after waiting. Gonna move all my good stuff to the left side tonight, appreciate the tip.
