Did your buddy play a caster or something? My friend had the same thing happen on those two, he kept hard locking the first one and getting wrecked by the second one breathing fire on him from behind. The second he started playing unlocked and just watched both of them, he got it on like his second try. Wild how much that one habit changes the whole fight.
