Lost my 40 hour save file to a crash during the final mission in Prometheus Falls

I was halfway through the last boss fight in Prometheus Falls on Tuesday night when the screen froze and the game closed itself out, and when I loaded back in my save was gone. All that was left was a cloud backup from 3 days earlier, which put me back at the start of chapter 6 with none of my gear. Does anyone know if those auto backup slots can be recovered, or am I just starting over from scratch?
