Mortar mix ratio was off for 4 years, one freeze taught me
Used 5 parts sand to 1 cement for every job until a wall I did near Boise spalled after winter. My supplier finally said the local sand is finer, needs 4 to 1. Checked my old notes, all my scratch coats had that weak ratio too. Anyone else have a regional mix surprise?
