Still bitter about my neighbor's monstera killing my peace lily after 3 years

Back in 2021, my neighbor Alice gave me a cutting from her huge monstera. I planted it in the same window box as my peace lily, thinking they'd get along since they both like bright indirect light. Three months later the peace lily was completely yellow and droopy. I learned the hard way that monstera releases some chemical into the soil that just chokes out other plants nearby. I had to dig the whole thing up and repot everything separately. Alice's monstera is still thriving in her yard like some kind of weed. Has anyone else had a plant that just killed everything around it for no good reason?

Bro that monstera is straight up playing 4D chess with your other plants. I had a mint plant that literally killed my basil by just existing next to it in the same pot. Mint is like the herpes of the garden world, spreads everywhere and doesn't care what it destroys. Your peace lily didn't stand a chance once that monstera got comfy.
