Rant: The library in my old town replaced all their leather bindings with cheap plastic covers
I was back in Springfield last month and it just felt wrong, like the whole history of the books was gone. Has anyone else seen a place do this and found a way to talk them into keeping the good stuff?

My local museum painted all the old woodwork bright white.

Ugh, @rubybarnes, I always thought white paint looked clean, but that actually sounds awful.
