Update: Our group argued for 2 weeks straight about whether the ending of 'The Silent Patient' was a cheap trick or a brilliant twist.

What about that book where the main guy was dead the whole time? Our group still hasn't recovered from that one.

Yeah I used to think those twists were cheap, but that book actually did it well. The way you slowly figure it out through small details, like him never really touching things. It made the whole story feel sad in a new way when I read it again.
