Kids have a way of pointing out the obvious stuff we just accept in stories. My little cousin once asked why the characters in a cartoon didn't just call the police when the bad guy showed up. It completely ruined the plot for me because she was right. You get so used to the rules of a made up world that you forget how silly they can sound. Those simple questions really make you see the story differently.
