Hit 50 books read this year and it caught me off guard

Ngl, I was just keeping track in a notebook since January and hit exactly 50 books last night with a memoir I grabbed off the library hold shelf. Halfway through I realized I'd already crossed that number back in November without even noticing. Anyone else suddenly hit a reading milestone that made them rethink how much time they actually spend escaping into stories?

Caught me off guard" is exactly right, though I'd gently push back on the "escaping into stories" part. For me, hitting those milestones usually means I'm just prioritizing something I genuinely enjoy, not hiding from reality, you know?
