Just realized how much time I waste chasing leaks in old pipe joints.
What's your best method for sealing them up quick without a full rebuild?

Stretch a balloon over the leak and secure it with a zip tie.

Oh man, that's the classic ending. I've been there, covered in bits of balloon. @the_wade's zip tie idea is solid, but my shaky hands would probably just create a whole new, worse leak.
