I finally saw the difference between a standard and a high-temp gasket on a 450 psi boiler
We were doing a turnaround at the MillerCoors plant in Golden last month, and the lead insisted on using a Grafoil gasket rated for 900F instead of the standard stuff. The old ones we pulled were brittle and cracked after only 8 months, but the new high-temp ones looked brand new on a follow-up inspection. Anyone have a go-to brand for those high-pressure steam applications?

Honestly wonder if that's overkill for most plants though. We ran standard gaskets on similar pressure for years without issues, just replaced them on schedule. That extra cost adds up fast lol.

Ever check if your old gaskets were actually rated for that pressure? I've seen some hold up fine while others fail early, so it really depends on the specific part.

You ran standard gaskets on 450 psi? That's wild.
