One player's 10 minute rule changed how I run every game
Last month at a meetup in Austin, someone told me my turns dragged because I explained every card action out loud. I started setting a 10 minute timer per player for their whole turn sequence. Now the table moves faster and people actually plan ahead instead of staring at the board. Has anyone else tried a turn clock or a similar limit that actually stuck?
Man, I need this in my life bad. I’m the guy who reads every card like I’m narrating a documentary, so my turns could probably time out a whole football game. The timer idea sounds brutal but fair, I’d probably panic and forget my whole plan the second it starts ticking. But honestly, that’s a good thing because it forces you to just commit and move on instead of overthinking every little choice. I might steal this for my group, even if I end up being the one who gets called out first.
