Just crunched the numbers on my game collection and I'm honestly shook
I was moving boxes around in my closet last night and decided to actually count how many board games I own. Turns out it's 47. That's not the scary part though. I added up how many times I've actually played each one this year and 14 of them have zero plays. Zero. I found this stat by checking my BGStats app which I've been using since January. Some of those games have been sitting unplayed for over 2 years because I keep buying new ones. Has anyone else done a real audit of their shelf of shame and gotten a wake up call?

Wait did your friend actually check their stats too? My buddy Mike did this exact same thing last month and he found out he had 22 games with zero plays out of his 60 something collection. He was all proud of his shelf until he realized half of them were basically just dust collectors. He told me he felt like a fake gamer or something because he kept buying new stuff but never cracked open the old ones. The wild part is he finally forced himself to play one of those dusty games last weekend and said it was actually pretty decent, just got buried under hype for newer releases. Made me think maybe we all need to do a hard look at our shelves instead of just staring at them.

Lmao dude that's literally me right now. I just checked my Steam library after reading this and I've got 14 games I've never even installed. My favorite is this RPG I bought two years ago because a YouTuber raved about it and it's just sitting there staring at me every time I open my library. I finally booted up one of my dusty ones last night and honestly it was way better than I expected, just got lost in the shuffle when I went on a buying spree.
