Vent: I picked a rented bounce house over the free fire truck demo and I'm still hearing about it
Our block party in Elmwood Park was set for June 14, and I had to choose between the $250 bounce house rental or the fire department's free truck visit where kids get to spray the hose. I went with the bounce house because I thought the little kids would get bored of the truck in five minutes. Big mistake. The truck demo got rained out anyway (they won't spray in wet weather), and by 2pm the bounce house had a line of 30 kids and two parents yelling about turn times. My neighbor Dana said flat out, "you should've booked both" and honestly she's right. For next year, has anyone run the fire truck thing and the inflatable together, or does that split the crowd too much?
