Shoutout to the guy at the Maple Street party who ran extension cords from his garage for the bounce house
I was helping set up our block party in Rochester two Saturdays ago and the rental company told us the blower needed to be within 50 feet of an outlet, which we did not have on that side of the street. A neighbor I barely know just rolled out 100 feet of cord from his garage and said he does it every year so nobody trips on a generator. That one move saved us the $85 generator rental and the noise during the whole party. Now I want to map out which houses have outdoor outlets before we pick our setup spot next time. Does anyone keep a little map of outlet houses on their block?

Why would you want to keep a map of which neighbors have outlets? That just turns a nice one-time favor into a list of who you can hit up for free power every year, and pretty soon people feel used instead of generous. If you really plan ahead, just rent the generator or ask the city about a permit for a temporary hookup so you're not leaning on whoever happens to live closest.
