Hot take: skip the permit, just close the street (and the time my neighbor Ed made me eat those words)
Two summers back I watched Ed from two doors down argue for 20 minutes with a parks department clerk in San Antonio about a $35 block party permit, and I thought he was being a cheapskate over basically nothing. Fast forward to our party getting shut down at 6pm because a fire truck couldn't get through, and I had to admit his boring paperwork rant was the most useful thing anyone said all summer. So what's the cheapest permit fee you all have paid, because I'm never winging it again.
