PSA: The library in my town has a phone lockbox by the door and it changed how I study
I went to the public library in Ames, Iowa last Tuesday because my apartment has too many screens and I get nothing done there. Right by the entrance there is a little wooden cubby with a sign that says lock your phone up, and about 6 people were actually using it. I dropped mine in, grabbed a seat, and got through 40 pages of a book in one sitting without checking anything once. The weird part is nobody was policing it, people just did it on their own. Does anyone know if other libraries around the country are doing this, or is Ames just ahead of the curve?
