Met a guy at Home Depot who changed how I look at blank walls

Was buying paint samples last Saturday at the Home Depot on 4th street and this older guy just walked up while I was staring at swatches. He said "you're overthinking it, just pick a color that makes you feel something when you walk in the room." Never had someone put it that simply before. Has anyone else gotten random life advice from strangers while shopping for wall stuff?
