Update: my brake drum forge warped a fire pot on me mid-batch
Heads up for anyone running a brake drum setup, mine warped last Thursday about 40 minutes into a batch of hooks. The drum bottom sagged near the tuyere so the air pocket got uneven and the coal kept going out on one side. I had to pull everything out at 10pm, lay the drum on its face, and beat it back with a 4lb hammer over a stump. If you're running a drum forge, check the floor flatness after a few hot sessions, and how often are you all replacing yours?
