Old timer at the shop made me rethink my hammer swing
I was grinding out some leaf hooks last Friday and a retired farrier watched me for a bit. He said my strikes were too vertical, that I was fighting the steel instead of riding it. Told me to angle my wrist like I was shaking hands with the anvil. Tried it for an hour and my shoulder stopped aching, plus my hooks came out cleaner. Anyone else get a tip from a stranger that changed how they work?
