Skip episode recaps when you rewatch with someone new

I was rewatching Breaking Bad with my partner last week, and I kept pausing to explain what was coming, but it killed the flow for them. Now I mute the recap at the start of every episode so they get the reveal fresh, and honestly it keeps me more hooked too. Anyone else find that recaps spoil tension on a second watch?
