Hated slow-burn dramas until The Leftovers changed my mind
I used to ditch any show that took more than 2 episodes to get going, but a buddy in Austin kept pushing The Leftovers. By episode 5 of season 1, I was hooked on the quiet weirdness, and now I actually crave slower pacing. Anyone else flip their stance on a genre after one specific series?

What was it about The Leftovers specifically that flipped the switch for you? I'm curious if it was the mystery stuff or just the way the show sat with all that sadness without rushing to explain anything. Cause I've had shows where I tolerated the slow parts and shows where the slow parts were the whole point, and those hit way different. Did the payoff in later seasons make you go back and rewatch season 1 with new eyes?
