The painted bike lane on 5th turned into an ice rink this morning

Rode into work around 7:45am and the city's "protected" lane on 5th street was just a sheet of black ice over the paint. My front wheel slid out near the old diner and I went down hard on my hip. Got up, checked my derailleur, and limped the rest of the way. Does your city ever bother to sand or salt the painted sections, or do they just pretend they don't exist too?

Albany salts the bridges but never the painted lanes, so I bought studded tires.
