My old pannier rack snapped after 11 years of daily rides
Last Tuesday I hit a pothole near the 5th Street bridge and heard something go. The rear rack on my commuter bike gave out, the one I've had since 2013. My pannier swung down and scraped along the asphalt for a block before I could pull over. Lucky it was empty, no laptop that day. I strapped the bag to my handlebars and limped the last mile to work, then ordered a steel rack for $45. Anyone else's older gear failing at the worst moment lately, or am I just overdue?
