Lady on the bus told me to shower before I bike and I actually listened
I was sitting on the bus last week and this older woman leaned over and said 'you really should shower first so your sweat doesn't stick to you all day.' Tried it out the next morning and wow, my shirt actually stayed dry for the whole 3 mile ride to work. Anyone else heard weird commuter advice from strangers that actually works?

That older lady probably saved your work shirts honestly lol. Three miles in summer heat is no joke, glad someone finally gave you the good word.

Funny you mention the shirts, but think about the bigger picture for a second. That woman didn't just save his clothes, she probably saved him from a bad fall or heat stroke if he was that red and exhausted. Three miles on pavement in summer is basically running an oven on high. Plus, she gave him advice that'll stick longer than any cheap shirt replacement could. Everyone focuses on the laundry part, but nobody's talking about how she treated him like a person instead of just some random sweaty guy. That's the kind of kindness that makes a neighborhood feel like a community.
