Dude at my local shop swore clipless pedals would fix my sweaty commute, he was dead wrong
Guy at City Cycle on 5th told me my sweat problem was from flat pedals and bad shoes. Said clipless would make me pedal smoother and stop the swamp back. I dropped $110 on pedals and shoes and gave it two weeks. Now I clip in at every red light, panic, and sweat even harder trying to get my foot out. My average speed went up 1 mph and my back is just as wet as before. Turns out the real fix was leaving 15 minutes earlier and riding slower, which cost me zero dollars. Anyone else get talked into gear when the answer was just pacing?
