Vent: Those fancy new bike lanes are wrecking spokes left and right

Ever since my town added those bumpy, tactile bike lanes (you know, for blind folks), I've been swamped with wheels needing true jobs from spoke breaks. Riders just barrel over the ridges without slowing down, and it's killing their rims. Makes me think we need to push for softer tires or better rim advice, anyone else seeing this?

Could it be that the bumps aren't the only problem? I mean, hitting anything hard at speed can damage a wheel if your spokes aren't tight enough. Maybe we should be telling folks to check their spoke tension more often, not just blame the lane.

Your point about checking spoke tension more often is spot on. I always thought it was just the bumps, but now I see how loose spokes play a huge role. This changed my mind, and I'm gonna start checking my spokes weekly.
