Turning brake rotors on every tune up is a waste of pad life, and I'm tired of pretending it is not
A customer picked up his bike at the shop in Boise last Saturday and asked why his pads were half gone after 300 miles, and I had to admit I turned his rotors on both prior visits out of habit. Unless the rotor is actually bent or glazed, sanding it just removes material and forces the pads to re-bed, which eats them faster. Anyone else only turn when there is a real shudder or score line, or am I the odd one here?
