Switched from cable lube to drip wax 8 months ago, drivetrain stays clean forever now
Was cleaning chains every 2 weeks with wet lube. Grimy mess always. Buddy at the shop in Portland told me to try Squirt wax. First month was rough, had to reapply every 80 miles. Now at 200 miles between applications. Cassette looks brand new still. No more black gunk on my hands. Anyone else make the swap and never look back?

Oh, "wax attracts mice" ... that's interesting, I never thought about that being a thing. Honestly, I had a huge mouse problem in my garage one winter and what finally worked for me was sealing up all the tiny gaps with steel wool and expanding foam. They can chew through just about anything but steel wool stops them cold. Also, I started keeping all my birdseed and pet food in metal trash cans with tight lids, that alone cut down on the activity a ton. Might be worth trying if you're still dealing with them.
