Snapped a derailleur hanger on a trail ride yesterday and had to limp 4 miles back
Was going down a rocky section near Boulder when a stick got caught in my rear mech and the hanger just gave out. Had to shorten the chain with a master link to single speed it back to the truck - anyone carry spare hangers for random frames or just hope for the best?

Carrying a spare hanger is such a waste of pack space honestly. You're way more likely to need a tube or a first aid kit out there. Just learn to limp it home like you did, it builds character and keeps you from overcomplicating your ride. Plus half the time you'd grab the wrong one anyway.
