Rant: A customer's vintage Campagnolo derailleur spring snapped mid-adjustment
It happened yesterday while I was setting the limit screw, and the whole cage just went slack. Anyone have a good source for obscure 80s Italian parts, or is this a fabrication job now?

Heard a buddy's old Cinelli cracked right at the dropout last year, so maybe it's just their time.

Wait, at the dropout? That's a wild spot for a crack. I always figured if a frame went it would be near a weld or the chainstay. Makes you wonder about the metal fatigue after all those years, just giving out in a random spot. Kind of spooky for an old bike to just decide it's done like that.
