Hit 10,000 spoke replacements this month and it caught me off guard

I've been working out of my shop in Portland for about 7 years now, and I keep a rough tally of what I do each month. I was going through my log last week and added it up - 10,000 spokes replaced since I started. That number just hit me. It's weird because I never set out to do that many, it just happened one wheel at a time. Most of them were on old commuter bikes that people bring in after hitting a pothole or curb. The funny thing is I still struggle with the first spoke on a new build, like it's a fresh puzzle every time. I never thought I'd get to that number. Has anyone else kept a count of something simple like this and gotten surprised by the total?

Yeah that's a wild number to wrap your head around. I bet you've got a REAL feel for how different rims and hubs behave by now.

That "real feel" thing applies everywhere, once you pay close attention to details.
