Carbon paste or grease on seatposts? I used to laugh at the fancy stuff.

I always thought carbon paste was a marketing gimmick. Then my seatpost slipped at mile 50 on a gravel ride in the rain. Has the expensive goo actually saved anyone else from creaks or slippage, or is it just snake oil?

Carbon paste is snake oil" - until your carbon frame cracks from over-tightening that clamp.
