Can we talk about how I blew off chain checkers for years?
I always figured a chain wear checker was a fixie kid toy that didn't matter, and then my buddy at the shop in Tucson handed me his Park CC-4 during a tune up and my cassette had a quarter inch of slop I somehow never noticed. Turns out my "shifting problems" were a stretched chain chewing up the teeth on a 11-32 I'd only run for about 8 months. He said it plain: "you're buying a cassette to save 15 bucks." Anyway I picked one up for 12 dollars and now it's the first thing I grab on any bike that rolls in, so what's the number where you swap, 0.5 or 0.75?
